Re purposed Christmas Cards
Okay for some reason I always save the Christmas Cards that we get.... I have a thing with not being able to throw away a card that someone takes the time to either pick out or make for me .... I just can't do it. So, I looked thru the stack of old Christmas Cards that we had and I picked out two that I really, really liked then I took two frames that I picked up in one of the two local craft stores in my area. I think that they cost $1.00 a piece the most.... Aren't they cute?
Close-up of the green one .
For this one I used some
1. Kelly Green Apple Barrel Acrylic paint to paint the frame.
2. Then once that dried I dry brushed some metallic gold paint all over the frame.
3. Once the frame was completely dry I took some of my favorite scotch double sided tape and I framed out the frame.
4. Next I sprinkled some Gold Martha Stewart's Glitter all over the double sided tape.
5. Then I cut this large pointsetta from the Christmas Cricut Cartridge and I attached that. I used more of my scrap pile too.
6. Lastly I took the Christmas Card that my Uncle Paul and Aunt Michelle sent to me and my family two years ago and I cut it to size.
That was it easy peasy right?
Close up of the Red one....
I happen to think that this is my favorite one.... in the beginning I like the other one better but, now that I see them finished I like this one "because of all the bling" much better.
1. I painted the frame with Candy Apple Red acrylic paint first.
2. Then I dry brushed the whole frame with gold paint.
3. Then I took a piece of my favorite cream colored ribbon and I tied it around the frame and I made a bow and attached it.
4. Then I cut this gorgeous Christmas Card that my In Laws sent to us two years ago and I cut that to size and popped it into the frame.
Now, originally this was all that I did to this one but looking at it, I liked it but, I wanted to give it alittle bit more so I added some red rhinestones to the tree and then I had some cream colored pearls so I added them to the frame and I have to say that I really, really like how the both of these turned out.... I would love to do a whole bunch of these and if I had a long server or buffet table I would decorate it with them during the holiday season....
Okay so early I mention Blog Candy here's what I'm doing. I'm hoping to get too 500 followers I think I'm just about half way there.... once I hit 500 followers I'm going to pick out of my regular followers/commenters. Because those are the people who are here, because they want to be and depending on how much of my favorite items I stock pile I will either pick one or two maybe even three people and they will get the goods. So, stop by often.... even if it's just to say hello.
Okay so now I'm going to turn you over to the very capable hands of
Gina from California Scrappin'. Like I said, I may even have something else for tomorrow if I get some crafting in between now and then.
