April Shower April 2nd & 3rd Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 of the:

April Showers Blog Hop

April 2nd and 3rd

Hope you are stopping back today to see what's new .... normally I do two projects and make one post for both days but this time... I decided to do 2 projects and have two different posts.   Just in case you didn't know this hop is being hosted by one of my Fellow Flamingo Sista's Kathryn  she is offering up a brand new Cricut Cartridge for one lucky blog hopper.  So to qualify please be sure to stop by everyones blog and leave them a comment.  Cause everyone who has a blog loves to read their followers comments.  I mean really what's a blog without followers and comments??

Okay let me get back on track......

So, you should be arriving her from Pam's Blog .

Today I have a project that isn't my own idea.  I actually saw this idea done on the DCWV Inc Blog

Spring Time Wreath

Supplies

Wreath form, six pages of 12 X 12 cardstock, hot glue gun

Directions

So what you want to do is cutt down the six pages of cardstock into 6 strips  that are  2" wide and 18" long (your going to want to glue two pieces together.  With the rest of the pages you are going to want to cut them down to strips that measure  1" X  4".

Next you want to curl the small strips.

Next your going to glue the two end of the strips together.

Then your going to start adding those to the wreath form.

continue all the way around the whole entire wreath form.  Then your going to start on the second row and then finish up with the third row

I finished up with a cute blue flower and some fushia colored sheer ribbon.  On the inside of the wreath you are going to use the 2" X 18" paper strip that you made earlier.  You can kind of see it in the picture up above.

Then to finish up the wreath you are going to take the next 2" by 18" Strips that you made and your going to attach them to the back (See Picture)

Here's the final project.

Hope you enjoyed my project.  Just in case you have a hard time following along with what I did here's the link to the video that I saw DCWV Inc. April Showers Blog Hop Day 1 April Showers Subway Art

April Shower's Blog Hop
April 2nd & 3rd

Okay this hop is being hosted by my fellow Flamingo Sister Kathryn Over at Creations with Kathryn .
Kathryn is offering up as blog candy a Brand New In The Package Cricut Cartridge.   Isn't that super
nice of her.  Sorry I'm not giving away any blog candy... I'm still working on getting myself some
sponsors.  It takes some time and it seems like everyone else is out there looking for the same thing.  I don't want to bore you with that.  You should be arriving at my blog by the way of Pam's Blog

Okay so what I came up with for this hop was what they call Subway Art " It's my interpetation of it".  I saw stuff like this online and I fell in love with how it looked so I just had to make myself  one for the house... I like it so much that I think I'm going to continue to make these for other Holidays but, the next time I make one I'm not going to use it with a mat.  I'm just going to have the huge lettering and possibly paint it instead of
using the printer to do it.  For now this one is okay.  I don't have many places that I can hang stuff right now but, once we move I will have tons of wall space so I'm going to be making all kinds of cute home decor items.... I'm alittle bit excited and can't wait.

Springtime Subway Art
It was super easy peasy to do make this.  I used my computer's, Paint program to do this.  All I did was
come up with some cute springtime sayings and then I searched online for some seasonal clipart and I copied and pasted to the paint program.  That's it!!!!
Then while we were on one of our weekly shopping trips at Wally World, I picked up a great artsy frame for like $5.00.  I printed out the page and then put it in the frame using the mat that came with the frame.  Now really that is it!!!!  Simple right?  I have the perfect wall to hang it on.  So, it worked out great.

Hope you enjoyed my project.  Thanks so very much for stopping by and leaving your comments.  I love reading all of them and I really appreciate you taking the time to read what I write because I know I can ramble on sometimes.  So, with that all said ,   I'm going to send you on your way to the very talented hands of  Leah over at her blog Leah's Card Designs

M-I-L Birthday Card Slider

I wasn't too sure if I posted this card or not but, I think it's SO cute and it's my first slider card and I just love the colors. My M-I-L is the SWEETEST, lady I know and she would do anything for you. So, every time I make a card for her I try to make it extra special because she's such a wonderful lady.

I also went and coordinated the envelope to go with the card. The lettering on the envelope was rub-ons that I've had for awhile and then I used some of my Martha Stewart's glitter. Also I just wanted to remind you all to stop back by this weekend for the April Showers blog hop because I happen to have 2 projects to share with you. I'm not sure if I'm going to make just 1 post or have 2 separate ones so you will just have to wait to see.... Thanks for stopping by. I appreciate it and I look forward to reading your wonderful comments. Michelle

We now have another Published Author in our House

For those of you who don't know I am the mother of a special needs child.   When my son was 7 he was "properly" diagnoised with Tourette's Syndrome.  What an ordeal that was.  I was always told that his sniffing, was caused because of allergies well it wasn't it can be and in his case it wasn't.

Okay so fast forward or I'll ramble on and on. For the last year him and 20 other individuals have been working with Chris Mason, a man who also has Tourette's, Chris had the brilliant idea to have a book published with first hand stories about what life is like having Tourette's .

Well, the book titled Touretties, is offically for sale.

It can be purchased from http://www.sakura-publishing.com/books.html
It costs $9.34.   If for some reason you do make a purchase and you let me know.  If your interested we can work it out where I get my son to sign it if that's something that your interested in.

I know that this isn't directly linked to my crafting but writing is a craft and this is very important to me and my family.

Thanks in advance for your support.
